AUMI 2.2.2 for iOS
AUMI for iPads, iPhones and iPod touches has been updated with many new features and changes
1. I probably should have called it 2.3!
Buidl 2.2.2 is a bugfix for 2.2.1, so it's almost the same, but this replaces 2.2.1!
In the Looks screen, there's a new layout! An arc-like semicircle is a layout that more closely matches how people actually move!
In the Video and tracker screen, it's been redesigned! The Zoom now zooms in twice as much to get in really close (which is good with high resolution cameras). There's now cursor smoothing, which can help with "noisy" video tracking. AUMI now supports hardware with multiple cameras, like modern iPhones and desktops, and you can choose among them and flip or mirror the images so that they match your tracking needs.
In the Timing and Chords screen, there is a new pattern "Take 5", in 5/4, very exciting! The minimum BPM has been lowered to 6 (one beat every 10 seconds)
In the Sound Order screen, you can now use a search to select or deselect sound files by name. This way, you can have faster control over reordering sounds in a layout!
There are also "patterns" where you type a series of sound numbers separated by spaces and it reorders those sounds in the order you put them in. For example:
1 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 2
will put 4 copies of the first sounds and four copies of the second sound. Making a lot of duplicates can help you make densly phasing sound environments!
13 12 10 8 9 7 5 3 1
will make a backward diatonic scale!
1 3 5 *13
make a major triad and then start again, an octave higher! The *[number]
1 1 13 13 1 1 8 8 *13
alternate pairs of octaves and fifths.
"Patterns" works off of what ever sounds are in the current order! You can always reset the sound order to its original order with the reset button.
Patterns work especially well when paiered with timing features like "Last", "Echo" and "Up"
- The SILENCE button is now a toggle! There's no need to slide off of it to keep AUMI quiet (or bring it back)! When using the desktop version, a spacebar tap acts the same as this toggle!
- There are new scales for the Melodic instruments: Jazz Minor and ... Yankee Doodle (which is kind of an experiment)
- With looping instruments, there's a way now to force the play time for allthe sounds to be the same, and match the "beats per minute" setting in the Timing screen. That way loops and quantized music making can be in synch, as well as making for some pretty distorted and weid sounding sounds! It's kind of experimental, and will work better in a later release!
